Ralph O. Mueller, dean of the University of Hartford’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions in West Hartford, Conn. since 2009, will assume the PNW position of Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost July 15.

With more than 9,000 students across 22 academic disciplines, the College of Arts and Sciences is larger than most universities in the state. Lacy Ford, who will take over as dean of the college in July, sees that size and diversity as opportunity.

Incoming University of Delaware President Dennis Assanis announced today that Christine Rawak, executive senior associate athletic director at the University of Michigan, will become the University of Delaware's new director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Services. 

Robert Soltis ’87, who has taught Pharmacology at Drake University since 1992 and is currently the Ellis and Nelle Levitt Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology, will return to Butler University as the new Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) beginning June 27.

Ferris State University has named Kristi Haik its new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The announcement was made by Paul Blake, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. Haik’s appointment is effective on Friday, July 1.

Mark Hoversten, dean of the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho, has been named dean of the College of Design at North Carolina State University, effective July 1. Provost Warwick Arden announced the appointment today.

The Big Sky Conference is pleased to announce the appointment of a new commissioner, Andrea Williams.

The next Edwin L. Artzt Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication will make a cross-country trek for the new role, bringing with him international expertise that Scott Coltrane, provost and senior vice president, hopes “will significantly expand the global reach of the college and dramatically enhance learning opportunities for our SOJC students.”

Veteran public broadcaster Phil Hoffman, an educator and documentary filmmaker whose programs have earned nearly 30 Emmy nominations, will be the new executive director of WUCF TV.

Dr. John V. Marymont has been named vice president for medical affairs and dean of the College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.  Marymont currently is chair of the department of orthopedics at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport.
