Robert Soltis ’87, who has taught Pharmacology at Drake University since 1992 and is currently the Ellis and Nelle Levitt Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology, will return to Butler University as the new Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) beginning June 27.
Ferris State University has named Kristi Haik its new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The announcement was made by Paul Blake, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. Haik’s appointment is effective on Friday, July 1.
The next Edwin L. Artzt Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication will make a cross-country trek for the new role, bringing with him international expertise that Scott Coltrane, provost and senior vice president, hopes “will significantly expand the global reach of the college and dramatically enhance learning opportunities for our SOJC students.”

Kimberly van Noort has been named Vice President for Academic Programs and Instructional Strategy of the 17-campus University of North Carolina. Dr. Mary Ann Danowitz has been named dean of North Carolina State University’s College of Education after serving as its interim leader since July 2015. Provost Warwick Arden announced Danowitz’s permanent appointment, which is effective April 1, 2016.
