It was a day to celebrate. The Chattanooga Mocs welcomed new head men’s basketball coach Matt McCall with an introductory press conference in the Chattanooga Room of the University Center. Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics David Blackburn opened the festivities, outlining many of the qualities that brought McCall to the forefront as the 19th leader of the program.

McCall shared his vision and his passion for student-athletes and the things he’s learned from the likes of Florida headman Billy Donovan and Athletics Director Jeremy Foley. He introduced his wife Allison and the couple’s adorable daughter Brooklyn.

The event’s attendance included the full throng of media along with a large number of Mocs supporters and staffers. McCall took time to visit and chat with everyone there. He clearly relishes the opportunity to lead the tradition-rich program.
