Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs and Provost

The University of Georgia invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. The Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost is the University of Georgia’s senior vice president and reports directly to the President. In day-to-day activities, the Provost serves as both chief academic officer and chief operating officer of the institution and advises and assists the President in all internal operations of the University, with particular attention to the development and implementation of academic initiatives. The Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost also serves on institutional boards and committees and performs other duties as assigned by the President.

The vice presidents for instruction, research, public service and outreach, and information technology currently report to the Provost, as do the deans of UGA’s 20 schools and colleges. In addition, three vice provosts, three associate provosts and several academic units report to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Leaders in these reporting units direct areas of broad-based responsibility: Academic Fiscal Affairs, Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness, Academic Programs, the Morehead Honors College, Academic and Community Engagement, Global Engagement, the Office of Faculty Affairs, and the University Libraries. The Georgia Museum of Art, Performing Arts Center, Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, and the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education also report to the Provost.
