Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics

Reporting directly to President & CEO Dr. A. Zachary Faison, Jr. and serving as a member of his Cabinet, the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics (VPIA) will provide visionary leadership, development, and operational oversight of Edward Waters University’s intercollegiate athletics program. The VPIA will collaborate closely with Enrollment Management, Institutional Advancement, Development, Marketing, and Communications to drive enrollment growth, elevate brand visibility, and generate significant financial support for Tiger Athletics.

As a transformative leader, the VPIA will advance the planning, development, and growth of athletics while upholding the University’s mission, values, and strategic priorities. Building on the institution’s recent momentum and recognition as one of the nation’s fastest-rising private HBCUs, the VPIA will propel EWU athletics to new levels of competitive success, student achievement, and community engagement.

The VPIA will oversee all administrative, financial, fundraising, marketing, communications, recruitment, compliance, and public relations functions of athletics. Responsibilities include supervision of sports programs, student-athletes, coaches, staff, and facilities, as well as serving as a visible ambassador in Jacksonville and beyond.

Equally critical, the VPIA will drive enrollment and academic outcomes for student-athletes, lead innovative fundraising strategies, and ensure compliance with NCAA Division II, SIAC, Title IX, and federal regulations while modeling ethical, values-driven leadership.
